Membership categories and fees

In order to serve a broad range of institutions and organizations, the EUA-CDE operates with 2 different membership categories:

1. Individual full members:

Are higher education institutions that are either full members of the EUA or other higher education institutions that award doctoral degrees. EUA’s national rectors’ conference members may also apply for this category.

The annual EUA-CDE membership fee for EUA individual full member universities is €1200.
The annual EUA-CDE membership fee for non-EUA member universities is €4000*.

2. Collective associate members:

Are established European networks of higher education institutions with an elected chairman and their own secretariat. As a minimum, their members must comprise institutions from at least 9 different European countries.

Affiliate members:

Are either national or international organisations or organisations concerned with specific thematic or disciplinary issues in relation to doctoral education and training.

The annual EUA-CDE membership fee for collective associate members and affiliate members is €1200.


*The higher fee also applies to the special situation of French PRES involving several EUA member universities.
